The wine and holiday resort of St.Aldegund is located in the heart of the beautiful Moselle landscape, about halfway between Trier and Koblenz. Lovingly restored half-timbered houses in the narrow winding streets of the old town centre testify to the rich history of the 900-year-old town. Steep vineyards, a large forest area and wonderful viewpoints of the beautiful Moselle valley make a walk here a very special experience. Thanks to a dam in the village, the Moselle stretches almost like a small lake throughout the valley and offers excellent water sports opportunities. It is a place where the simple village culture and art heritage blend seamlessly from the high Middle Ages to today, and where the village image has been preserved at its core.
